The Russian embassy in Pyongyang held a news conference on February 9 to mark Russia’s Day of Diplomats.
It drew local journalists, Tass correspondent and Russian embassy staff members.
The history of Russian diplomacy covers 200 years and the Day of Diplomats was set in 2002, Russian ambassador Alexander Matsegora said. He added that 12 000 Russian diplomats with a high sense of patriotism and responsibility for their work are now active in 140 countries.
He also recalled the prominent diplomacy and heroic feat of former Russian ambassador to Turkey Andrei Karlov, the sole diplomat who was awarded the title of hero in Russia.
He told his country would work hard to boost Russo-DPRK relations in the future, too.
The participants saw the photos and a video showing the activities of Russian diplomats.
