Pyongyang, February 16 (KCNA) -- A joint meeting of Nordic progressive political parties and friendly organizations took place in Sweden on Feb. 11 in the run-up to the birth anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il.

On display on the front wall of the venue of the meeting was a picture of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il standing together.

Also displayed were photos dealing with the revolutionary careers and exploits of the great leaders and books and photos introducing the achievements made by the Korean people.

Present at the meeting were personages and members of the Communist Party in Sweden, the Swedish Group for the Study of the Juche Idea, the Finnish Communists' League, the Finland-Korea Society and other progressive political parties, organizations for the study of the Juche idea and organizations for friendship and solidarity with the Korean people in Nordic countries and the DPRK ambassador to Sweden and staff members of his embassy.

The participants in the meeting laid bouquets and flowers before the picture of the great leaders standing together and paid tribute to them.

Speeches were made there.

The speakers highly praised Kim Jong Il as the peerlessly great man who made great contributions to protecting socialism, achieving peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and accomplishing the cause of independence against imperialism with his unique Songun politics.

A statement was read out.

The statement said the great exploits of Kim Jong Il would shine long and he would always be remembered by the world progressives.

A congratulatory message to respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un was adopted at the meeting. -0-
