Kim Jong Un, chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea, chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, visited the Pyongyang Mushroom Farm.
He was accompanied by Premier Pak Pong Ju, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee and vice-chairman of the DPRK SAC, Jo Yong Won, deputy department director of the WPK Central Committee, and Ma Won Chun, director of the Design Department of the SAC.
The Pyongyang Mushroom Farm, which has put the production on a scientific, intensive and industrial basis in a perfect manner, is able to produce over 1 000 tons of a variety of tasty and nutritious fungi annually.
The Supreme Leader made the rounds of different places of the farm including areas for storage of raw materials, fermentation, dissemination, cultivation and growth, technical arrangement room, integrated manufacturing control room, and sci-tech learning space.
He appreciated the automation in storage and grinding of raw materials and mixture of substrate, as well as the levels of automation in the areas for dissemination and cultivation. The complete establishment of the integrated manufacturing system from raw material input to outputting has resulted in automating and integrating the production processes into an assembly line at high levels, he said.
He lavished praise on the units engaged in the design and construction of the farm, describing it as an establishment to boast about and a perfect model of the country’s mushroom producers.
It is a firm decision of the Party, he noted, to turn the country into the one famous for mushroom. And he gave important instructions to be served as guidelines in the management and operation of the farm, stressing the need to improve technical knowledge and skills on a constant basis and to apply advanced and practicable methods for cultivation.
He had a photograph taken with the managing staff and employees of the farm.
