Rodong Sinmun, organ of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, carried an article entitled “South Korea-US ‘alliance’ is a noose for domination, subjugation and subservience” in its June 27 issue.
Though the pro-US and treacherous Park Geun Hye regime fell and a new regime took power in south Korea advocating “democratic reform”, the ruler, politicians from both ruling and opposition parties and conservative media chorus “strengthened alliance” hoarsely, the article said.
It denounced the treaties concluded between south Korea and the US as nothing more than a duplicate of the Ulsa five-point treaty and Korea-Japan annexation treaty, which are both humiliating agreements that reduced Korea to a Japanese colony, saying south Korea-US deals are subordinate ones which legalize that south Korea should grant all the sovereignty to the US.
The closer south Korea-US alliance grew, the tighter the noose of colonial rule of the US over south Korea got, and the south Korean puppets who lost the sovereign rights repeated the tragic vicious circle of selling the national interests to their master, it said.
The US occupation of south Korea was an act of aggression which was committed to achieve the sinister purpose to secure a bridgehead for realizing the wild ambition of dominating Asia and the world by conquering the whole Korean peninsula, it added. In an agreement it instigated the Syngman Rhee clique to sign in order to justify its military occupation, the US legalized that it can utilize any installations, whatever and wherever they are, at its own free will if it deems it necessary to turn south Korea into a military base, and south Korea should provide it with the rights unconditionally, it noted.
As it lost the ground to exercise the full command over the south Korean army after suffering a bitter defeat in the Korean war and signing the armistice agreement, it fabricated the “mutual defence treaty” to maintain the grip of the south Korean army while advertising as if it assumed a responsibility for the defence of south Korea, it noted.
The south Korean puppets’ trumpeting about building up alliance with the US is, in a nutshell, a foolish argument that they would work as servants to carry out the US policy of aggression and a shock brigade in the north-targeted war, it said.
"As man cannot do anything he wants with bound hands and feet, the south Korean authorities chained by the alliance cannot have a say in pushing inter-Korean reconciliation.
“They should immediately throw away the petrified servility absolutizing the alliance and the shameful pro-US subservient way of thinking that they cannot do without it.
“If they fail to drop the anachronistic policy of blindly following the US and continue to go against the trend of the times by trumpeting about the 'strengthened alliance', they will be unable to evade the same miserable fate as the Park Geun Hye regime that has been dumped into the cesspit of history,” it warned.
