The Korean people look back upon the past year to mark the first anniversary of Kim Jong Un’s election (June 29) as chairman of the DPRK State Affairs Commission as they speed up the grand Mallima advance for the building of a powerful socialist country.
The Supreme Leader set forth a grandiose plan for ensuring the victorious advance of socialism under the banner of the great Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism at the historic Seventh Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea. Since then he has led the service personnel and people to launch a vigorous campaign of self-reliance and self-development on the strength of the indomitable spirit, science and technology.
He made sure that the Party and government gave top, absolute priority to the demands and interests of the people by setting the wholehearted devotion to them as the revolutionary traits of the Party and the mode of existence of the Party and state. The service members and people cherished purer loyalty to the WPK and the revolutionary ranks achieved single-hearted unity with one ideology and intention and with kindred affection.
He also saw to it that the Party’s unified leadership was fully established in the building and activities of the state and the governance system was improved as required by the developing reality, thereby preserving the popular characters of the government and consolidating the socialist political system.
Since his assumption of the top post of the state, the country’s military strength has attained the highest level.
Putting forward the modelling of the entire army on Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism as the general task of army building, he turned the People’s Army into a revolutionary army of the Party that takes it as its lifeblood to defend the leader unto death, an army strong in ideas and morality and an invincible elite force fully equipped with cutting-edge military hardware.
He kindled the flames of the crack shot and guards unit movements and organized and directed lots of operational and combat drills to make the whole army bubble with enthusiasm for training as the anti-Japanese guerrillas had done on Mt Paektu and ensured that proactive efforts were made to establish military discipline and improve the living of service personnel. Under his commandership the revolutionary army of Paektusan is demonstrating its might as an invincible sword with which to defend the country, revolution and people.
Eye-opening achievements were also made in defence buildup in a short time as he saw to it that the defence industry was constantly put on Juche, modern and scientific basis at a higher level and Juche shells and other powerful homegrown weapons were manufactured in larger quantities.
Thanks to his patriotic devotion, the blast of the first hydrogen bomb of Juche Korea shook the world, and a series of tests of various attack means including nuclear warhead blast and the launch of ground-to-ground intermediate-range strategic ballistic rocket Hwasong 12 were carried out successfully, with the result that the DPRK has emerged as a nuclear and rocket power in the East.
Holding aloft the self-development-first banner, he has ushered in an era of sea change and a golden age of building a thriving socialist country on this land.
He trained service members and people into persons strong in spiritual strength who, invariably keeping faith in socialism and confidence in victory of the revolution, struggle to bring earlier the rosy future with their own efforts, technology and resources, braving all hardships.
The DPRK is brimming with such spirit and speed of the times as the Paektusan hero youth spirit, the spirit of Kangwon Province and the Mallima speed while structures of lasting value showing the standard of creation in the country have sprung up and overall fields in the building of a civilized socialist power including education, sports and public health have made remarkable progress.
Under the sagacious leadership of the Supreme Leader the Korean people have made an uninterrupted offensive, innovation and advance to implement the five-year strategy for national economic development as they give full play to the might of the self-supporting economy and the advantages and power of Korean socialism, resolutely crushing the hostile forces’ sanctions and other moves to stifle the country.
They are rushing towards the final victory with the pride of having the outstanding leader at the helm of the Party and state.
