“The DPRK encourages a variety of exchanges with other countries including the visit to the country irrespective of their governments’ policies toward it and there is no source of anxiety about foreigners’ personal security,” a spokesman for the DPRK Foreign Ministry told KCNA on August 4 after the US Department of State issued a decision on banning its citizens from travelling to the country on August 2.
He dubbed the travel ban the US administration issued as it found fault with the exercise of legitimate rights by the sovereign state a base restriction on human exchanges which is geared to hurting the dignity of the DPRK and preventing American citizens from seeing its true looks and realizing the US failure in its anti-DPRK policy as well as a reflection of the US administration’s hostile approach to the country.
It is high time the Trump administration came to its senses and gave up its policy hostile to the DPRK, he said, adding the DPRK always leaves the door open for any Americans who are willing to visit Pyongyang in good faith.
