The 28th national consumer goods show ran at the Pyongyang Underground Store between October 16 and 20.
On display were more than 80 000 articles of over 2 000 kinds manufactured by industrial establishments under ministries and national agencies.
Light industry factories across the country presented lots of latest products and commodities which have been more diversified and improved in terms of quality.
The Textile Industry Management Bureau came up with polyester rayon biased fabric for spring and autumn suit, polyester rayon for suit and shirt, yarn-dyed chequered cloth and material for curtain and quilt wrapper.
Its other favoured exhibits were men’s and women’s highly elastic underwear that absorbs and evaporates moisture well, various stockings convenient for sporting activity and a variety of sewing-machine threads ensuring gloss and tenacity.
Standouts included shoes from the Wonsan Leather Shoes Factory, sports shoes from the Ryuwon Footwear Factory, briefcase, handbag and rucksack from the Phyongsong Synthetic Leather Factory, functional cosmetics from the Pyongyang Cosmetics Factory and glass-lid pot from the Sinuiju Enamelled Ironware Factory. In particular, exhibits of the Wonsan Leather Shoes Factory were original in the shape of stretcher and sole and over two times greater in adhesive power while ensuring high quality and beauty.
The Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports unfolded new types of football, basketball, volleyball, goalie gloves and training equipment.
The football is designed to increase the flight speed and coefficients of elasticity and rolling and the goalie gloves have a high friction factor and low sliding coefficient.
Other eye-catchers were such functional foods as brown bread, wheat-germ cake, lysine bread, barley-flavour soda pop, bean peptide powdered milk and soybean paste and various furniture pieces as well as digital LCD TV set.
During the exhibition there were visits to different factories including the Pyongyang Bag Factory and the Rangnang Disabled Soldiers’ Essential Plastic Goods Factory, a workshop on new technologies and registration of February 2 Products, an honour dedicated to best products.
