Trump mentioned about the “lull before the storm” at a consultation about DPRK and Iran issues with military officials at the White House on October 5, and two days later tweeted that lots of agreements had been concluded with north Korea and a large sum of money had accordingly been paid through 25 years of dialogue to no avail, but one thing would be effective.
When asked what the “lull” and “one thing” mean, he only said enigmatically they would get it before long.
Underlying his threatening remarks is a design to scare someone and get out of an awkward situation. The wicked intention of his threat about any imminent disaster is to hinder the DPRK in its strategic measures to complete the national nuclear programme and to aggravate tension so as to egg those countries that are fearful of the current developments of situation on to join the bid for imposing sanctions and pressure on the DPRK while tiding over the mounting ruling crisis. In a nutshell, Trump’s nonsense is a desperate attempt in the face of the DPRK’s speedy nuclear buildup and its tougher stand.
He is the butt of criticism for his reckless remarks that disturb the world. His behaviour is so base and clumsy even his confidants call him a “dullard” and the Congress sarcastically refers to the White House as an “adults’ nursery”, asking Trump if his “one effective thing” means his resignation.
His trick to frighten the DPRK has rather pressed the panic button in the US. Its citizens are stocking up on foods and other supplies for emergency. A sense of horror is getting more acute in the US as suspicions are growing that it has no means and capability to fend off the DPRK’s blow.
His imprudent conduct is making the American society uneasy, rather than deterring any other country.
Many are of the opinion that as the DPRK is fully ready for both the sanctions and military option of the US, the latter will be unable to come off unscathed once it attacks the former militarily.
Trump had better keep his ear to the ground instead of spitting out such a crazy talk.
