Recently, the Syrian government forces mounted an attack on the “Islamic State” in Hama, killing dozens of terrorists, rescuing women and children who had been detained as hostage and taking back oil platforms in the eastern part which were in the hands of terrorists.
On October 31, they recaptured several districts under the control of the IS in the capital of Dayr az Zawr before completely retaking the whole of Dayr az Zawr from the extremists two days later, with the result that the government forces have regained control of the city on the western bank of the Euphrates River.
Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, in a diplomatic meeting on November 7, said that the Syrian army’s victory in the war against terrorism lifted the country from the crisis of division, adding the triumph dealt a fatal blow to the terror supporting forces who had contrived the country’s division. He noted that the anti-terror war waged by the Syrian army was a war against hostile forces who had attempted to split the country by instigating terrorists and terror organizations.
Syria’s anti-terror efforts come with a fight against hostile forces that seek its division by aiding terrorists.
A typical example is the ever-growing conflict between Syria and the West including the US over the allegations about the use of chemical weapons by the Syrian army.
The US-led “anti-terror alliance” which has long supplied munitions to the terrorists and made deliberate air raids on the government forces spreads rumours that the Syrian government forces used chemical weapons.
Syria resolutely rejected the allegations describing it as a conspiracy aimed to justify a new aggression against the country.
On October 27, the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates issued a statement to totally reject the chemical weapons prohibition organization’s report made on the instructions of the US and Western countries. Noting that the report distorts truth and all correct information materials on the event have been interpolated, the statement said that the report is based on the testimony of criminals who launched the attack.
Meanwhile, Syria has been making efforts to put on end to the illegal and outrageous occupation by the anti-terror alliance, while disclosing and denouncing the alliance for occupying cities in conspiracy with the IS, conniving at the activity of terrorists in cities and trying to cover up what they did on the pretext of “reconstruction”.
Despite the hostile forces’ interference and the terrorists’ desperate attempts, the Syrian people’s efforts to achieve territorial integrity and defend peace will bear fruit.
