Pyongyang, November 18 (KCNA) -- The Third National Conference of Social Scientists took place at the April 25 House of Culture here on Friday and Saturday.

The conference reviewed the successes and experiences gained in the field of social science after the last conference and discussed the tasks and ways to make a fresh turn in the development of the social sciences, as required by the developing revolution.

Present there were Vice-Chairmen of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea Pak Kwang Ho and Pak Thae Song, Vice-Premier Jon Kwang Ho, officials concerned, researchers, teachers and editors in the fields of science, education and media and party cadres training organs, and in the sectors of revolutionary history and national relics preservation.

A delegation of the Korean Social Scientists Association in Japan, followers of the Juche idea from various countries and other foreign guests were invited to the conference.

"Our Social Sciences Should Actively Contribute to Accomplishing the Cause of Modeling Whole Society on Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism", a letter sent by respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un on Dec. 1, Juche 101 (2012) to the scientists and officials of the Academy of Social Science marking its 60th founding anniversary, was read out by Pak Kwang Ho, member of the Political Bureau and vice-chairman of the C.C., WPK.

Congratulatory messages from the Central Standing Council of the Korean Social Scientists Association in Japan and the International Institute of the Juche Idea were also read out at the conference.

He referred to the proud development path taken by the Juche-based social science along with the successful advance of the Korean revolution under the guidance of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il.

Terming the founding of the Juche idea by the President a noteworthy event that brought about a revolution in the history of human thought and the development of social sciences, he said:

The founding of the Juche idea provided ideo-theoretical and methodological guidelines for building the revolutionary social science in the new era of independence.

The President energetically guided the work in the field of social science for a long time in the period of building a new country after the liberation, during the Fatherland Liberation War and in the periods of post-war rehabilitation and reconstruction and construction of the foundation of socialism, thus bringing about valuable traditions of the Juche-based social science.

Leader Kim Jong Il set it as the primary task of social science to comprehensively systemize the revolutionary history and exploits of the President and give wide publicity to them at home and abroad and authored many works including "On the Juche Idea" and thus illuminated the road to be followed by social science for its successful development with the Juche idea as its guidelines.

Social science of the DPRK has been put on a fresh high level in its development, thanks to respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un.

At a watershed of history when a new century of Juche began the Supreme Leader formulated the social science into the Kimilsungist-Kimjongilist social science and is wisely guiding its work so that a revolutionary turn has been brought out in its development as required by the on-going drive for modeling the whole society on Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism.

The reporter noted that social scientists have made valuable successes conducive to prosperity of the country and development of the country's social science during the past years.
