Pyongyang, March 27 (KCNA) -- The public at home and abroad has highly appreciated the dramatic events taking place for the improvement of inter-Korean relations and peace on the Korean peninsula thanks to the DPRK's pro-active decision and positive efforts.

Margot Elisabeth Wallstrom, foreign minister of Sweden, said that what is clear is that the whole world is paying attention to the situation on the Korean peninsula. This reflects the interests of all of us in view of security, the minister said, adding that now is the time for dialogue.

The Nigerian National Committee for the Study of Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism posted on its website an article titled "Attraction of Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un", which said that his attraction is that he is a very trust-worthy man who doesn't make any empty talk, adding: His judgment is correct and he surely does whatever he is determined to do.

A senior researcher of the south Korean Security and Strategy Institute said at a seminar:

We can understand that the north has long prepared for the present turn of the situation, as evidenced by the facts that it stressed the "dialogue and improvement of the relations between the north and the south to settle the nuclear war crisis on the Korean peninsula" in a decision of the 7th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea in May 2016 and issued an "appeal to the whole Korean nation at home and abroad" in name of the joint meeting of the DPRK government, political parties and organizations on Jan. 24 in the wake of the New Year Address to make clear four points; making a breakthrough for improved north-south relations and independent reunification, easing the acute military tension between the north and the south, creating a peaceful climate on the Korean peninsula, realizing contacts, visits, wide-range cooperation and exchange between them, positively creating a climate for national reconciliation and reunification and paving the way for fresh phase of national reunification on the principle of national independence and under the banner of By Our Nation Itself.

Agreeing to such view, the south Korean online newspaper Tongil News contended that the north created the present situation with its strategic option to overcome the crisis on the Korean peninsula, neither seeking a turn of the situation as it could not stand the U.S.-led international sanctions nor considering the condition in which the United States was examining a military option against the north.

Various civic and social organizations of south Korea including the South Side Committee for Implementing June 15 Joint Declaration, Solidarity for Social Progress and the Confederation of Trade Unions have hailed the present atmosphere for improved north-south relations through such colorful events as meeting and song performance in Seoul, Pusan, Taejon and other areas. They would say that it is hard to go to bed, deeply moved, and their hearts are swelling with pride and honor.

Posted on websites of south Korea are numerous articles under such titles as "We saw the possibility for peace and reunification free from war", "It is an unprecedented event", "Let us conclude a peace pact and freely come and go between the north and the south" and "We expect a successful dialogue".

The climate for reconciliation and detente is prevailing in the Korean peninsula where the situation was on the verge of war and the desire for peace and reunification is growing stronger. This reality makes the public at home and abroad keenly feel the DPRK's positive and sincere stance and efforts for the improved inter-Korean relations and peace on the Korean peninsula. -0-
