The fifth national juvenile football games ran from May 22 to June 4, Juche 107 (2018) amidst the great expectations and interest of many amateurs.
The opening ceremony took place in the Phyongsong Youth Stadium on May 22.
The keynote speaker referred to the fact that Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un clarified the direction and ways to raise the country on the position of a sports power on the earliest date possible and bestowed great benevolence to hold the national juvenile football games every year to mark the founding anniversary of the Korean Children’s Union.
Attending boys and girls successful at the city, county and provincial preliminaries competed in group round-robin and semi-finals before the final was held on June 4 at the Songdowon International Children’s Camp.
Boys and girls from Pyongyang came first, boys from South Phyongan Province and girls from South Hamgyong Province second and boys from South Hamgyong Province and girls from South Phyongan Province third.
After the final was over, there was an awarding ceremony.
The recent games served as an occasion that fully displayed the proud appearances of young students growing to be the masters of a future sports power.
