A Latin American regional seminar on independence and global peace took place in Maracay City, Aragua State of Venezuela on October 5-6.
Displayed at its venue were works of the peerlessly great men and books introducing the advantages of Korean-style socialism centered on the popular masses.
Present there were Ramon Jimenez Lopez, chairman of the Latin American Institute of the Juche Idea who is director-general of the International Institute of the Juche Idea, Omar Lopez, vice-chairman of the Latin American Institute of the Juche Idea, delegates of Juche idea study organizations from Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia and Costa Rica, personages of various political parties and organizations in Venezuela, the DPRK ambassador to Venezuela and his embassy officials.
A report was made at the seminar before speeches.
The reporter and speakers referred to the growth of the progressive forces in Latin American countries in recent years and their achievements as well as the need to further strengthen the unity and cohesion with each other against the persistent and frantic moves of the imperialists and reactionary forces.
They stressed the significance of great Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism, the essence of which is the Juche idea, in achieving the progress and change in Latin America and expressed the will to intensify the work for materializing it.
They lauded the exploits of Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un.
They decided on the issue of forming a regional youth organization for the study of the Juche idea to enhance the role of young people in positively promoting the independent development of Latin American countries.
A letter to Kim Jong Un was adopted at the seminar.
