Pyongyang, November 4 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun Sunday carries an editorial upon the arrival of Miguel Mario Diaz-Canel Bermudez, president of the Council of State and president of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Cuba, in Pyongyang.
The Korean people warmly welcome Bermudez coming to Pyongyang across the continent and ocean with the feelings of friendship of the fraternal Cuban people, the editorial says, and goes on:
His current visit to the DPRK is a historic event which powerfully demonstrates invincible friendship and unity and comradely friendship of the two peoples who are moving forward shoulder to shoulder in the joint struggle against the imperialists' policy of aggression and war and for peace and the victory of socialist cause.
It is the fixed stand of the Korean Party and government to boost the traditional relations of friendship and cooperation with the Cuban people, which have been consolidated down through centuries and generations, as required by the new era.
Though the DPRK and Cuba are far away from each other, the two peoples have established the close, brotherly ties based on the idea and ideal of socialism.
The friendship and unity of the two parties and two peoples are the most sincere and solid ones of the class brethren fighting for the victory of the socialist cause and a good example of the comradely relations between the peoples of the countries making revolution.
The fraternal friendship between the two peoples has made a great contribution to global independence and the human cause of peace.
Today the Cuban people hold higher the banner of anti-imperialist independence and socialism in the face of tough sanctions and pressure by the imperialists under the guidance of Raul Castro Ruz and Miguel Mario Diaz-Canel Bermudez true to the behests of Fidel Castro Ruz.
The Korean people warmly welcome the visit to Pyongyang by Miguel Mario Diaz-Canel Bermudez and sincerely wish him big success in his current visit. -0-
