Kim Jong Un , chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, sent a message of greetings to Ho Jong Man, chairman of the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon), on January 1.

The message extended warm congratulations and compatriotic greetings to the chairman of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee and all other Chongryon officials and Koreans in Japan on the occasion of the promising New Year 2019.

The year of 2018 was the year of great victory when the dignity and might of Kim Il Sung ‘s and Kim Jong Il ‘s Korea were fully demonstrated to the whole world, and the significant year in which the new era of national reconciliation, peace and prosperity was opened in the Korean peninsula thanks to the proactive struggle and support of all the fellow countrymen in the north, the south and abroad, the message said.

Last year Chongryon grandly celebrated the 70th birthday of the DPRK in the alien land and successfully held the 24th Congress of Chongryon as the one of victory and unity, the message said, adding that Chongryon achieved great success in its overall work by steadily escalating the patriotic movement.

The message highly appreciated the Chongryon and Koreans in Japan for successfully fulfilling their honorable mission and duty for the country and nation while fully displaying its true nature as a dignified organization of overseas nationals of Juche Korea in the face of the vicious suppression by reactionaries at home and abroad, and extended warm thanks to them.

The New Year 2019 is a year of an all-out charge to attain the higher goals in the building of a powerful socialist country, and it is a year of great advance to make remarkable progress in the struggle to usher in a new heyday in the movement of Koreans in Japan, the message said.

In the new year, Chongryon should make an all-out effort to implement the decisions made at the 24th Congress of Chongryon in step with the people vigorously struggling in the motherland, holding fast to the Juche-based idea of overseas compatriots movement set forth by the peerlessly great men of Mt Paektu and their undying feats as an ever-victorious treasured sword, the message said, adding that by doing so, it should provide a firm springboard for bringing about the overall prosperity of the movement of Koreans in Japan.

The message expressed the will to make every effort and render the warm feelings of blood relationship for the victorious advance of the patriotic cause of Chongryon and for the prosperous community of Koreans in Japan in the new year, too, always remembering Chongryon, the patriotic legacy of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il .

The message wished Ho Jong Man and all other Chongryon officials and Koreans in Japan good health, families of compatriots happiness and the beloved children of Koreans in Japan brighter future.
