The DPRK is steadily developing the work for training nurses.
South Phyongan Provincial Nurse School is the paradigm of nurse education.
It consists of multifunctional lecture rooms and labs for nursing, midwifery and anatomy. It puts emphasis on education and internships by means of multimedia and vivid models.
Its multimedia programs took the first place in succession in the national sci-tech achievements exhibitions and several lecturers held software copyrights.
Most recently, it developed an injection program based on computer image processing, which pays off in many schools across the country.
Registered as the standard and model school in the Southeast Asian region appreciated by the WHO, the school is regarded as the world nursing and midwifery cooperative research centre.
Foreign medical educators say that the school is qualified to give lectures on nursing and midwifery to other countries in the Southeast Asian region.
An adviser to the UN Population Fund in the DPRK said it is a model in the Southeast Asian region and can be claimed to be the best in the future.
