A music and dance performance was given by the Korean People's Army Song and Dance Ensemble at the Ponghwa Art Theatre on December 30 to mark the 7th anniversary of Marshal Kim Jong Un's assumption of the supreme commandership of the KPA.

Among the audience were Choe Ryong Hae, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, vice-chairman of the DPRK State Affairs Commission and vice-chairman of the WPK Central Committee, and other senior Party and government officials, officials of the WPK Central Committee, ministries and national agencies, officials of institutions, factories and enterprises and persons of merits in Pyongyang.

Senior officials of the armed forces organs and service personnel of the Korean People's Army and the Korean People's Internal Security Forces also watched the performance.

Overseas Koreans staying in the homeland, foreign diplomatic envoys and representatives of the missions of international bodies, military attaché and their spouses in Pyongyang were invited.

The performance began with prelude "Ode to General Kim Jong Un", a revolutionary hymn. Put on the stage were such colourful numbers as chorus "We Wish the Supreme Commander Good Health", female duet "Stars in Nocturnal Sky", female soprano trio "My Song", male trio and tap dancing "The Naval Port in the Evening" and kayagum ensemble "Sea of Apples at the Foot of Chol Pass."

The performers made artistic representation of the boundless glory and pride of all the people and the service personnel who are blessed by the generals and supreme commanders through generations as the Korean people have Kim Jong Un at the top post of the revolutionary armed forces in the highest esteem.
