Working people's organizations held meetings with DPRK Heroes on February 7 to mark the 71st founding anniversary of the heroic Korean People's Army.
Workers and members of trade unions met with DPRK Hero Kim Sung Un, a lecturer of the Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum, at the Central Hall of Workers.
Kim Sung Un said that President Kim Il Sung put forward the independent line of army building after Korea's liberation and developed the Korean People's Revolutionary Army into the regular revolutionary armed forces.
He recalled that the President initiated the aircraft-hunting team movement to frustrate the enemy's "air superiority" during the Fatherland Liberation War and taught KPA soldiers the best methods of shooting down the enemy aircraft.
He said he was honoured with the title of DPRK Hero for shooting down five enemy aircraft in 20-odd days with small arms as instructed by the President.
Agricultural workers met with DPRK Hero Pak In Ho, a lecturer of the Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum.
Pak In Ho said that the KPA has reliably defended the country and the revolution by force of arms in the annals of the revolution under the leadership of the peerlessly great men.
He stressed that the heroic KPA is fully demonstrating its might in the struggle for defending the country and on major fronts of building a socialist power under the leadership of Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un.
The Heroes called upon the workers, trade union members and agricultural workers to become honourable victors in today's worthwhile struggle for consolidating in every way the might of the self-supporting economy of socialism, true to the leadership of the Workers' Party of Korea.
