Throughout his career, Chairman Kim Jong Il was presented with over 40 000 gifts from party leaders and presidents of 170-odd countries and other foreigners.
Prominent figures and peoples from all walks of life around the world are presenting their gifts to him even after his demise.
In December Juche 100 (2011), a businessman in Chinese Hong Kong presented him with two sand flowers. He toured many parts of the world to find them. Finally, he discovered the rare treasures in Saudi Arabia. He made both sides of the gift’s holder and the white ceramic plate of its back side inscribed with Kimjongilia and azalea, the immortal revolutionary hymn Song of General Kim Jong Il and the classic masterpiece My Mother written by the Chairman and his own poem of praising Chairman Kim Jong Il and the anti-Japanese war heroine Kim Jong Suk.
In December Juche 101 (2012) a Vietnamese institution presented him with a lacquered mother-of-pearl craftwork with long history and tradition. It prepared the gift in praise of the immortal exploits Kim Jong Il performed to develop the friendly relations between Vietnam and the DPRK.
Vishwanath, former director-general of the International Institute of the Juche Idea, presented him with a gold-plated necklace; a delegation of the Russian association for promotion of studying and disseminating Kim Jong Il’s works with a glass vase; and a Nigerian senator with a crystal ware “Admiration of all people”. They represent the sincerity and admiration of mankind wishing his immortality.
That is why foreign visitors to the International Friendship Exhibition House are amazed at the gifts presented to him.
An American tourist said: I am deeply impressed by the gifts presented to Kim Jong Il after his death. It is my first time to see the fact that a leader of a country is presented with gifts even after his demise. It is beyond my expectation. I came to understand the true meaning of immortality.
A Belarussian tourist said the fact that the DPRK leaders are presented with gifts even after their death clearly proves the great feats they had performed in their lifetime.
A Japanese said he could understand afresh the greatness and exploits of Chairman Kim Jong Il and that he would like to give wide publicity to his exploits to the whole world.
