was established on February 15, 1954.
Over the past 65 years, the school has produced two Labour Heroes of the DPRK, over ten People’s and Merited Teachers and four doctors, and over 70% of its staff members have been awarded academic degrees and titles.
It has installed electronic boards developed by their own efforts in all classrooms and supplied them to the schools across the country.
It has tens of laboratories, including one physical lab and three chemical labs, where students can undertake experiments and practical trainings by grades at the same time.
Its students have bagged 19 gold medals, 33 silver medals and 9 bronze medals from the 31st to the 57th International Math Olympiad (1990-2016). Among them are double and thrice gold medal winners.
It has also a general control room for putting its education on an IT footing and an office for making video teaching materials.
Its graduates are allowed to study at universities and colleges at all levels or abroad.
It has established a friendly relationship with Beijing School No.11 of China.
Dr. Pang Sung Son, its principal, says: In the future we will steadily improve the teaching contents and methods in keeping with the world trend of developing education and pedagogical requirements to bring up all students as the excellent personnel of the country. Our goal is to surpass the global standards of education.
