Pyongyang, February 6 (KCNA) -- A meeting to mark the publication of the 20 000th issue of newspaper Chongnyon Jonwi took place at the Central Youth Hall on Monday.
Present there were officials and journalists, editors and employees of the newspaper and youth and students in the city of Pyongyang.
Choe Sun Chol, editor-in-chief of the paper, made a report there.
The reporter noted that under the guidance of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il the newspaper has creditably discharged its mission and duty in the struggle to accomplish the revolutionary cause of the leader since its inaugural issue was published on April 20, Juche 35 (1946).
He went on:
Kim Il Sung made sure that the Order of National Flag First Class was awarded to the youth paper before any other media of the DPRK for publishing it without any single missing issue even during the fierce war in the 1950s and had energetically led the publication of the paper after the war.
Kim Jong Il gave field guidance to the newspaper three times with his insight into the role of the youth paper in developing the Korean youth movement into the one of the leader long ago, providing important guidelines to be always held fast to in the editorial work.
Respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un showed deep trust and loving care for the newspaper, seeing to it that its circulation was drastically increased as it is playing a great role in preparing the youth as reserves of the Party and a congratulatory message of the Party Central Committee was sent to it on the occasion of its 70th founding anniversary.
The reporter called on all the officials, journalists, editors and employees of the newspaper to add shine to the history of the publication of its 20 000th issue under the leadership of Kim Jong Un and faithfully uphold the Party's idea and line of prioritizing the youth with pens of the revolution.
