Pyongyang, April 23 (KCNA) -- The Korean People's Army is the most reliable and perfect army of the leader and the Party as it has defended and supported the cause of the Party with arms, says Rodong Sinmun in an article on Sunday.
The article goes on:
Our army has upheld the cause of the leader in the van since its foundation.
As they were faithful to their leader the revolutionary armed forces could win a victory after another in every battle to wipe out the Japanese imperialists and achieve the historic cause of liberating the country by arousing all the people to the anti-Japanese war.
The noble spirit of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army and its tradition of emerging ever-victorious, created in the forests of Mt Paektu, have been invariably inherited through generations.
Our army played a vanguard role in accomplishing the cause of party and state building in the period of building a new country, united firmly behind the leader, displayed matchless bravery and popular heroism in defeating the U.S. imperialists during the fierce Fatherland Liberation War and fully demonstrated the might of the main force in building a socialist state, independent in politics, self-supporting in the economy and self-reliant in defence, on the ruins.
When big-power chauvinists blocked the Korean revolution and the anti-party and anti-revolutionary factional elements challenged the Party and when the country made an arduous march, the army remained a strong pillar of encouragement and will to the Party and the leader and instilled the faith in certain victory into the people.
The KPA, which has carried forward only the lineage of Paektu, defended the Party and the leader with arms and took the lead in supporting the idea and leadership of the Party at the turn when the generation of the revolution was replaced.
The KPA has always emerged victorious, upholding the cause of the Party and the leader with strong faith and pure conscience generation after generation and century after century.
