Pyongyang, February 16 (KCNA) -- Personages of Myanmar issued statements on Jan. 31 and Feb. 3 on the threshold of the birth anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il.
Tin Tun, director of the Myanmar Medical Research Institute, said:
HE Kim Jong Il, the great successor to the idea and cause of President Kim Il Sung, developed the Juche idea into the guiding idea in the era of independence.
He pursued his unique Songun politics. It is the exploit of significance in history of mankind that firmly guaranteed the victorious advance of the socialist cause and the cause of independence against imperialism.
He paid deep attention to the development of the relations with the countries advocating independence and conducted energetic external activities to build a new world in which independence is realized.
His exploits for the Korean revolution and the cause of global independence will shine forever.
Maung Maung Naying, director general of the Myit Tar Moe Publishing House of Myanmar, said:
The Korean people and the world progressives are paying the highest tribute to leader Kim Jong Il who made immortal contributions to the country's prosperity and the people's happiness and the cause of independence against imperialism.
Kim Jong Il is the defender of socialism as he proved the scientific accuracy and truth of socialism and the inevitability of its victory through his rare ideo-theoretical activities and thus smashed the imperialists' moves against socialism.
It is the greatest miracle in the human history of politics that he turned the DPRK into an invincible military power and nuclear weapons state, which nobody dares provoke, holding high the banner of Songun.
